SUM 41

Biography:

Sum 41 was formed in Ontario, Canada in 1996 by Deryck Whibley and Steve Jocz. Group in time to take the name Kaspir before finally deciding that Sum 41 are more suitable for them.

Their first album was released HALF HOUR OF POWER Island Records in 2000 and achieved platinum sales in Canada only from the course. The next album was released a year later even won three platinum. Titled album ALL KILLER NO FILLER was still released by Island Records.

Color Sum 41 music heavily influenced by NOFX and The Beastie Boys, although they also refer to Judas Priest and Iron Maiden as their source of inspiration. But on the album that feels heavier CHUCK and serious when compared to the previous three albums, Sum 41 called Metallica as one of the influences in their music.

Although punk was quite strong colors in their songs, the kind of music they play is often debated by fans. Maybe because their music is a blend of many musical genres.

With the recent formation of Deryck Whibley (vocals), Richard Roy (Bas), and Steve Jocz (drums) Sum 41 last released an album with the title of 2007 yesterday HERO underclass.
