QUEEN
In the 1970s not many bands that brakes pure flow like music group Queen. The British quartet that wing of progressive rock, heavy metal and various other streams it successfully combines the bombastic music and opera to create a game with the sound of guitars and layered vocal technique. Over the years the Queen boast of their albums with the motto â € œ  no single Queen album which was engineered synthesizerâ effect €??. Brian May et al issued the statement because they do not want to be compared to post-hard rock band Led Zeppelin, which many rely on synthesizers effects.

The lead singer, Freddie Mercury Queen tried to evoke musical humor with weights approaching the sentimental and arranger of classical music arrangements. The combination of these unique enough to be heard on the work of the group Queen, entitled â € œBohemian Rhapsodyâ €??. Meanwhile, Freddie Mercury, which is seen as a flamboyant figure, turned out to save the controversial secret, that he had a deviation in sexual behavior, bisexual. This was stated clearly in the music of Queen, from the title of the selected song to the indirect disclosure of desire that is written on the lyric. Soon after Freddie acknowledged that, in 1992 he died from AIDS illnesses suffered. It's strange when we know that the idol of the gay songs like â € œWe Are The Championâ €??, It becomes a song that used to celebrate this moment of triumph in the field of sports. But it can happen because of the expertise of the display process owned music Freddie Mercury, as someone who is very dynamic and charismatic in rock history. Thanks to Freddie's talent was well, the group Queen managed to become one of the leading groups in the world in the mid-1970s.

In the UK alone, the group became the band Queen had to settle for number two, because it was defeated by the popularity and collections of music of the Beatles in the 1990s. Brother, although bearing the popularity, in 1979 the music magazine Rolling Stone once called Queen album entitled Jazz, as the album fascist. It's okay to come menghujam sharp criticism, but the popularity of the Queen did not seem shaken. In the late 1980s, the group fronted by Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, Brian May and Roger Taylor are still having a fanatical followers, except those in the United States.

Figure who served as the founder of musical group is the Queen drummer Roger Taylor and guitarist Brian May. In 1967, Roger Taylor and Brian May had joined the psychedelic rock band called Smile. After the main vocalist Tim Staffel resigned from the group Smile in 1971, Brian May and Roger Taylor formed the band with Freddie Mercury. Freddie Mercury itself is a former vocalist of the Wreckage. A few months later, John Deacon joined as bass player in the group that formed Brian, Roger and Freddie, and began to practice together. Within two years, after four members completed college, they begin to roll out a number of performances.

Some time before the album Queen II was released, the Queen has appeared in a music contest Top of Pops, they performed the song â € œSeven Seas of Rhyeâ €??. Both the song and the Queen's presence at the contest is really a pretty satisfactory result in success. Single â € œSeven Seas of Rhyeâ €?? a successful shot into the Top Ten charts, where the album Queen II made it to the charts sequence to five. Brother, before reaching the end of 1974, the group Queen released their third album, entitled Sheer Heart Attack. But indeed, the success achieved by this, not without effort. Many facts which confirmed that the Queen worked very hard and takes a long time to produce the album A Night at the Opera, and it can be said that the album is the album's most expensive record ever released at that time. â € œBohemian Rhapsodyâ €??. This single is one of the recordings contained on the album A Night at the Opera, which later became a symbolic song for the group from London, England. â € œBohemian Rhapsodyâ €?? has the feel of opera interludes that are still quite thick but also interspersed with typical metal music.

Hoobastank

Hoobastank
Hoobastank
Hoobastank Overview:

Hoobastank are a hard rock band that feature an accessible mixture of metal riffs, emotive lyrics and radio-ready melodies. The band’s angry, wounded lyrics never risks alienating the mainstream audience – instead, Hoobastank’s songs dress their misery in pleasing hooks and sing-along choruses. Led by frontman Doug Robb, the group had their biggest success with the 2004 ballad “The Reason.” Hardcore rock fans tend to dismiss Hoobastank’s lightweight material, but the truth of the matter is that the group’s mid-tempo songs are far stronger than their attempts to write aggressive rock anthems.

Hoobastank’s Origins:

Hoobastank formed in 1994 in Agoura Hills, California, a small community north of Los Angeles. Singer Doug Robb joined forced with two of his classmates – guitarist Dan Estrin and drummer Chris Hesse – to put together the band. (Bassist Markku Lappalainen was also a part of the original lineup but left the group in 2005.) For the next few years, Hoobastank played around Southern California and recorded some self-produced albums. The band signed to Island Records at the turn of the century, but after an aborted album called Forward was shelved, Hoobastank set to work on their official debut.

Wowing Radio, Annoying Critics:

2001’s Hoobastank set the course for the band’s career: audiences loved the group’s post-grunge hard rock, but critics found their songs whiny and derivative. Hoobastank was front-loaded with its three singles – “Crawling in the Dark,” “Remember Me” and “Running Away” – being the first three songs on the album. Of their early hits, the mid-tempo ballad “Running Away” got the most traction, charting on the mainstream rock, modern rock, pop, and adult charts, hinting at the group’s ability to bridge musical genres with their songs.

Hoobastank Find "The Reason":

Released at the end of 2003, The Reason would make its impact felt the following year. After the first single, the choked-riff “Out of Control,” made a respectable showing on the rock charts, Hoobastank followed it up with the title track, an undeniably sentimental power ballad about a girlfriend that the singer has left brokenhearted. “The Reason” was the sort of song that makes hard rock fans roll their eyes, but just about everyone else on the planet embraced it – the track reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Buoyed by the song’s success, The Reason went double platinum.

Struggling to Maintain Popularity:

Bassist Markku Lappalainen was gone from the band by the time of 2006’s Every Man for Himself. Although the album showcased Hoobastank’s continuing sonic evolution, Every Man didn’t have another ballad with the same power as “The Reason,” although “If I Were You” was actually a better, less sappy variation on the model. Consequently, Every Man failed to enjoy the same popularity as The Reason had – still, the album peaked at No. 12 and managed to be certified for gold-level sales.

'For(n)ever':

Hoobastank returned with For(n)ever on January 27, 2009. The album was preceded by the release of the first single, “My Turn,” a snarling riff-heavy track.

Hoobastank Lineup:

Dan Estrin – guitar
Chris Hesse – drums
Doug Robb – vocals

Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi
Bon Jovi
Formed:

1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey

Core Members:

  •     Jon Bon Jovi (born John Francis Bongiovi on March 2, 1962 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey) - Lead vocals, guitar and piano
  •     Richie Sambora (born July 11, 1959 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey) - Lead guitar, background vocals

  •     Alec John Such (born November 14, 1956 in Yonkers, New York) - Bass, background vocals
  •     Tico Torres (born October 7, 1953 in New York City) - Drums, background vocals

Other Members:

  •     Dave "the Snake" Sabo - Lead guitar, replaced by Sambora and known as a founding member of Skid Row later in the '80s
  •     Hugh McDonald - Bass, following Such's departure in the mid-'90s

Bon Jovi's Early Years:

Bon Jovi was and is a local Jersey band through and through, the product of long-term musical interests and experience on the part of its five '80s-heyday members. Bon Jovi and Bryan played in other clocal bands during the '70s, but the classic Bon Jovi lineup didn't actually come together until 1983, when the music industry family connections of the former helped him record a demo of what would become the group's first hit song. Soon the band's core lineup would sign a major-label record contract.

Commercial Concessions & A Nose for the Mainstream:

Before the finalized version of Bon Jovi recorded its eponymous debut album, John Bongiovi decided to amend his name in an attempt to sound less ethnic. This Bizarro John Cougar move indicated the newly christened Jon Bon Jovi’s desire to pursue popularity and a high level of audience accessibility. The 1984 album release revealed the roots of the band’s developing sound, but more than anything the band’s first Top 40 hit, "Runaway, set the stage for future pop-tinged success.

Calculated Title + Professional Songwriters = Jackpot:

Although Bon Jovi himself was the key creative force behind "Runaway," the relative failure of the band’s 1985 sophomore release, 7800 Fahrenheit, apparently inspired him to make a move that reeked of desperation but looked like genius in hindsight. Collaborating with songwriter Desmond Child and testing a bundle of songs heavily with teen focus groups, the band released the provocatively titled Slippery When Wet in 1986. The rest is big-hair, glossy pop metal history.

The Bon Jovi Phenomenon Takes Hold:

Timing isn’t everything, but it was a lot for this band. In late 1986 the rising hair metal genre pioneered by L.A. bands such as Motley Crue and Ratt as well as British rockers Def Leppard was gaining steam and popularity on MTV. Enter the photogenic, camera-craving, highly coiffed Jon Bon Jovi, who helped take the form to the next level. Fueled by the monster hits "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Livin' on a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead or Alive", Slippery When Wet quickly went multi-platinum.

Long-Term Plateau & Near-Burnout:

Though 1988’s New Jersey was nearly as explosively successful as its predecessor, the band’s music had become less tuneful and more hackneyed. I would defy anyone to argue that this album’s huge hits like "Bad Medicine," "I’ll Be There for You," and "Born to Be My Baby" do anything but pale embarrassingly in comparison to the best tunes on Slippery When Wet. Still, fans weren’t complaining, and the band carried out a nearly 18-month world tour deep into 1989 before taking a much-needed hiatus.

An Impressive '90s Rebirth and Beyond:

For all of Bon Jovi’s somewhat cynical pop origins, the band made an extremely graceful and consistent transition into the '90s. Jon Bon Jovi’s savvy grasp of a broad arena rock aesthetic helped the band avoid the pitfalls of a post-grunge rock scene that claimed many of its contemporaries in a stack of spandex rubble. The singer cut his hair and calmly produced one of the band’s best songs in "Bed of Roses," a straightforward, melodic power ballad that helped keep Bon Jovi stable and successful.

30 Second To Mars

30 Second To Mars
30 Second To Mars
30 Seconds to Mars are both blessed and cursed because their frontman is actor Jared Leto. Achieving notoriety for his role in the acclaimed 1990s TV drama My So-Called Life, Leto parlayed that success into a music career, which helped bring attention to his alt-rock group before they even released their first album. But while his fame has opened doors for his band, 30 Seconds to Mars have been dismissed by some because of their Hollywood connections. In truth, the group’s work, which touches on modern and classic rock, has showed promise, but they have yet to deliver a top-to-bottom great record.

30 Seconds to Mars' Origins:

30 Seconds to Mars started in 1998 as a collaboration between Jared Leto and his drummer brother Shannon. As the band began work on their debut album, their lineup also included guitarist Solon Bixler. (Later, Bixler would leave the band, paving the way for current guitarist Tomo Milicevic.) Leto serves as the group’s singer and principal songwriter.

A Mild Debut:

The band’s 2002 debut, 30 Seconds to Mars, was a decent amalgam of alt-rock sonic staples, including the polished aggression of the moody mid-tempo number “Echelon” and the streamlined guitar attack of “Capricorn (A Brand New Name).” As a vocalist, Leto demonstrated real presence without over-emoting, but the music felt a little too disposable to make much of an impression. Ultimately, 30 Seconds to Mars failed to wow radio, and critics enjoyed making snide comments about Leto’s career as a pretty-boy actor, suggesting that this band was just a vanity project for him.

Finding Success With 'A Beautiful Lie':

Leto responded to that criticism three years later with A Beautiful Lie, a stronger collection of modern rock that embraced arena anthems (“From Yesterday”) and atmospheric postpunk (“The Story”). Leto’s songwriting still veered toward the melodramatic and familiar, but singles like “The Kill” and “From Yesterday” were a hit with rock radio, and A Beautiful Lie went platinum. 30 Seconds to Mars hadn’t yet won over music critics, but the average listener was starting to warm up to the band.

'This Is War':

30 Seconds to Mars wouldn’t release another album until 2009’s This Is War. In August 2008, the band got involved in a heated legal battle with their label, Virgin/EMI, over a contract dispute regarding how many albums the group still owed the label. The dispute was eventually settled, and 30 Seconds to Mars put out This Is War through Virgin/EMI.

30 Seconds to Mars Lineup:

Jared Leto - vocals, guitar
Shannon Leto - drums
Tomo Milicevic - guitar, keyboards
